My Journey to Becoming a Better Leader
My first venture into management proved to be a challenging and chaotic journey. While I had the skills for the product, I found myself ill-equipped to manage people. I worked exhaustive hours, clocking in 60, 70, even 80 hours a week, trying to get my staff to follow my directives. However, this approach only led to escalating frustration and anxiety. Sleep became a luxury, and my temper flared, leading to confrontations both at work and at home.
On the brink of a breakdown, I sought help, and fortunately, found a mentor who forever altered my perspective on leadership. He imparted valuable lessons on effective management, and his teachings were the stepping stone on my path towards becoming a better boss. I applied what I learned and gradually incorporated proven resources and tools from various experts, bosses, and friends into my leadership style.
Now, I want to spare you the hardships I faced. I want to share my learnings so you can avoid the mistakes I made. My mission is to ensure you don’t become the kind of boss I was in the beginning. Instead, I want to equip you with the tools and resources you need to become the best boss you can be.
