Everyone understands that feedback is good – unless someone wants to share it with you. To change your culture and encourage the best behaviors, you need to demonstrate a value for feedback.
Show Notes:
Feedback is the way to know where to grow.
Without a healthy value for feedback, anxiety envelopes us and we discard feedback to protect ourselves.
In this episode we discuss:
- Why a Best Boss is open to feedback
- Not to get caught in the easy trap of surrounding oneself with ‘Yes Men’
- Difference between good and bad feedback
- How to find the hidden anchors dragging you down and identify your blindspots
- Situate your heart on continual improvement
- Keep asking for feedback
- Demonstrate a value for feedback your team shares
- Listen – validate – implement
Best Step:
Ask for feedback from one trusted person about one thing you could do to bring improvement.
Make it easy for them.
Practice listening and receiving it.
Then, after a day, ask for feedback on how you received the feedback.
